Cindy Dulay from Pickering, Ontario, Cananda has been photographing horse races among other things for over 15 years now.
The above photograph was taken in May 2004 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The horse, Stephan's Angel, was not very happy being saddled for the Miss Preakness Stakes and leaped straight up in the air. She went on to finish second in the race and is now a broodmare on a farm in Kentucky. This photo was printed in Mid Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine and won the Eclipse Award for best thoroughbred horse racing photo of 2004.
This photo was taken in May 2010 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The horse, Seeking the Title, stumbled during the race and lost her jockey. She kept on running without a rider and was caught just before the finish line by the outrider. Both she and the jockey were fine and she is still racing. She is owned by a Canadian and this photo was printed in Canadian Thoroughbred magazine and is a finalist for the Sovereign Award for best thoroughbred Canadian horse racing photo from 2010.
This photo was taken in 2009 at Santa Anita in California. The horse, whose name Cindy never found out, bucked off his rider and took a run around the track loose, jumping in the air from time to time. He was eventually caught and both he and his rider were fine.
Prints of the above photographs, and many more, can be purchased from Cindy's shop Horsing Around Photos, go take a look.
