Silver for Great Britain Three Day Event Greenwich Park London Olympics 2012

 Huge congratulations to the Eventing Team GBR on winning Silver.

Well done to Mary King, Zara Phillips, Nicola Wilson, Tina Cook and William Fox-Pitt.

All British Dressage team horses passed the trot up earlier this evening; start times have now been announced for the Grand Prix test on Thursday - Carl 11.54 & Laura 15.11 and Friday - Richard 12.15 and Charlotte 14.10

Day 3 of the Three Day Event Greenwich Park London Olympics 2012 Cross Country Day

A great day for Team GBR, with clears from each rider in the x country and finishing on a score of 130.20 putting us in silver position at the end of the cross country phase.

Nicola Wilson was Team GBR 's trail blazer for the cross country today and she finished within the time so she finishes the day on her dressage score of 51.7and in 20th place.

Here's what Nicola has to say about Opposition Buzz:

'He's just unreal, what a fantastic horse. This is his favourite phase by far, when he's allowed to go cross country it's like all his birthdays have come at once'

Six time Olympian, Mary King on Imperial Cavalier  went clear with only 2 time faults her score now stands at 42.10 in 6th place.

"I'm thrilled to only have two time penalties."

Zara Phillips, who was celebrating her 1st wedding anniversary today, went clear on High Kingdom with no time faults, her score stands at 46.10 giving her equal 10th place.

"The crowd was unbelievable!"

Kristina Cook gave Great Britain another clear round on Miners Frolic with no time faults, she finishes on 42.0 in 5th place.

"Miners Frolic is fantastic, he was bred to race and I’m very lucky to ride such a class horse."

William Fox-Pitt, world number one, achieved the 5th british clear round of the day but Lionheart was tired and they gained 9 time penalties to end on a score of 53.30 and 22nd place.

"I wasn’t expecting him to be so tired at the end, he’s always completed easily within the time and I don’t think he can have felt 100%. I don’t want to make any excuses and you never do know but it’s very unlike him - I was just very glad that he went on jumping and that he got home."

Olympic Equestrian Cross Country - What to wear - London 2012 Olympic Games

Lucky enough to be going to the equestrian three day event cross country at Greenwich Park?

The BBC weather forecast is for a sunny start, cloud will build through the day but it should remain mostly dry with sunny spells. So maybe you could show who you are supporting with the Musto TeamGB t-shirt.

But then again this is Britain so you might just need these Joules wellies after all!

Day 2 of the Three Day Event Greenwich Park London Olympics 2012

William Fox-Pitt achieved a personal best dressage score on his young horse Lionheart  which haskept the British team in third place going into the Equestrian eventing cross country phase tomorrow.

"At 10 yrs old Lion is a lot younger than some of the other company, this is his first championship and he’s not a great big moving warmblood horse, so hopefully he’s going to come into his own the next two days and that’s why’s he’s here. He was never selected for this phase; he’s produced a PB today" "There are a lot of very good horses here; it’s very exciting that the marks are close to get there. Let’s hope we can go really well tomorrow." William Fox-Pitt.

Despite having to ride through the worst downpour of the day that included thunder and lightning Tina Cook and Miner’s Frolic scored 42.0 penalties

 "42 I’m pleased with, I would have loved it to be a couple of marks better but we didn’t make any mistakes. He has a really fabulous brain that wants to please, he seems to cope with these atmospheres which is quite surprising as he’s quite a sensitive horse but he wants to try his best and he did by ignoring everything else that was going on around him. It wasn’t ideal, it wasn’t perfect but I’m pleased with what he did." Tina Cook.

Zara Phillips scored 46.10 penalties on High Kingdom with Mum, Princess Anne, Grandfather, prince Philip and husband, Mike Tindall in the crowd to support her.

"It’s incredible, an amazing feeling to be part of the Olympics and to ride for your country and just be here, the crowd were amazing. I’m lucky he [High Kingdom] doesn’t really get too wound up by the atmosphere though; it actually lifted him a bit. I’m pleased; it was a big test for him. Disappointing about that one [flying] change as his are usually good but that was only inexperience. He’s getting stronger all the time and coped with all the crowd and he’s only getting better." Unofficial team standings after day One at Greenwich Park – taking the best 2 scores of 11 teams.

First GER 79.1; Second AUS 87.1; Third GBR 92.6; Fourth USA 98.9; Fifth BEL 99.0; Sixth NZL 100.8, Seventh SWE 103.5; =Eighth IRL & CAN 104.5; Tenth FRA 106.8; Eleventh JPN 113.50. NED and BRA unranked so far.

Mary King and Imperial Cavalier achieved their best ever score at 4* level, 40.9 pen, after Mary held her fingers to her lips to signal quiet to the crowds

“Absolutely fantastic, I’m not usually tearful but coming in here with all the home crowd is emotional. I knew if they cheered that Imperial Cavalier would have exploded and we would have found it hard to ride a test after that, so although they were all behind me they were very well behaved.”

Nicola Wilson and Opposition Buzz achieved the best score they could have done, 51.70.

"It was quite emotional entering the main arena; it’s a fantastic setting, not that I had time to look at the view! So many cheers went up from the crowd and so I raised one hand to wave at the crowd to let Dodi [Opposition Buzz] know it was OK rather than let him get tense. It seemed to work as he stayed with me and really tried. We produced the best test we could have done; I’m very very proud and pleased with him. We’ve been very fortunate to have support through UK Sport Lottery Funding to improve what would be his weakest phase and it’s really paid off. I’m delighted with how he tried for me today.”
