The Four Riders [Excerpt] from Chaja Hertog & Nir Nadler on Vimeo.
The Four Riders is a study of equine anatomy in movement. Projected onto four life-size screens, the horse ' s body is deconstructed into massive landscapes of moving flesh.
The video is filmed close to the skin; hooves shine; chest-muscles quiver; veins expand and nostrils flare impatiently as if these horses are about to burst out of the screens and into the audience. (http://www.hertognadler.com/)

'The Four Riders' is a four channel video installation that
deconstructs the horse’s anatomy into massive landscapes of moving
flesh. The video is filmed close to the skin; hoofs shine, chest-muscles
quiver, veins expand, and nostrils flare impatiently as if these horses
are about to burst out of the screens and into the audience.
Inspired by the apocalyptic atmosphere in Durer’s woodcut as well as
by Eadweard Muybridge’s study of animal movement, this work places the
horse in a contemporary context by staging the wild and grotesque next
to the restrained and elegant, within a hypnotizing composition.
